Wang Laboratories introduce the Wang 300 electronic calculator
1965 During the 1960s, Wang Laboratories were pioneers in the manufacture of desktop electronic calculators. The Wang 300 was their first electronic calculator, launched in 1965. The Wang 300 was a multi-user calculator. It included a master electronics box, which performed calculations for all users, and several desktop units each with their own keyboard and 10 digit display. The photo on the right shows the electronics box in the background, and two desktop units in the foregound. At launch, the Wang 300 sold for $1700. Related information:
